James Burland of Nokia Creative must be one of the most enthusiastic photographers I know in the Symbian world. Other than covering many things Symbian, his blog is constantly updated with the latest tips and tricks regarding photo shooting and ways to make use of those megapixels that Nseries was glad to cram into your device.
He recently was in Venice and decided the city was too great to keep to himself: the tilt-shift method he used with the N82 was nothing short of amazing, and so were the pictures he took using the N95 with a Raynox 5050 Lens but probably the nicest and most surprising experience was the underwater N82 video he shot.
James’ most recent tip consists of using Duotone to resuscitate old photographs and give them that WOW factor they just didn’t have at first. I have recently grown accustomed to using Adobe Photoshop and I have to admit that sometimes the slighest modification can make the biggest difference. Duotone seems like a nice tool to start with, and I know once you’ve gotten yourself used to edit photos, you’ll want to do much more.
One other thing to highlight is the monthly photo awards given to pictures uploaded to the N95 and the N82 flickr usergroups. January’s results are up and I can’t help but say I am a big fan of everybody’s work. Some pictures are just too stunning, and as an example there’s this Orange & Blue photo by Nattu. Don’t you think it fits the Symbian-Guru color theme well?
Now tell me you can’t find a billion different uses for your Nseries camera!
