Shake Me… But No I Won’t Drop Candies

Samir Oueldi, our talented accelerometer developer that we have grown to respect just released the second beta of Shake Me for donators. What we first thought was a simple lock/unlock solution, seems to be a little bit more than that. It can activate/deactivate Bluetooth, silence/un-silence the phone as well as toggle the backlight on and off.

Another utility that compares to it is Shakelock which Ricky has previewed recently, with 2 exceptions: first that Shakelock only locks/unlocks the phone, and second that ShakeLock is a Python app so it won’t run on an N95-3 because of an issue with Python 1.4.2 and the current firmware. Let’s hope Nokia gets off their butt and stops treating the U.S. version like a red-headed stepchild.

Ricky has donated a few bucks to Samir to get ahold of the application and is thoroughly impressed. It’s very simple, with few options, and works exactly as expected. If you have an accelerometer-equipped handset, we highly recommend you head over, toss Samir a few bucks, and get in on the beta of this useful application.

  1. No matter what setting I had it on, it kept toggling in my pocket. I had to uninstall it as fast as I installed it.

  2. N95-3 left out again.

  3. @Pakyooh - I’m rocking this on my N95-3 with no issues. Since this app doesn’t require Python, we’re good to go, my friend!
