ShakeLock v1.0.4 Officially Available

The first truly useful accelerometer application, in my opinion, is finally out and available for download. You’ll need to have Python for S60 installed (you can download that here) and then download the current ShakeLock release from Manu’s website.

If you’re not familiar, ShakeLock uses your N95 or N82’s accelerometer to allow you to simply shake your phone to activate or deactivate the keylock. It looks like this is only the first version, there will be updates along the way.

Apparently, in order to install, you’ll need to change your phone’s date back to March 2007 before installing, due to the certificate used to sign the application. Once you’ve installed it, you can change the date back to current.

**Note** Apparently there is a bug with N95-3 handsets currently that will not allow this app to run. Sounds like we’re waiting either for a Python update or a new firmware for the N95-3. Personally, I opt for the latter.
