Yamake Makes Gaming Personal
This morning Nokia announced Yamake, which is a cool new service that allows gamers to use their own content such as pictures, videos, and audio, in conjunction with provided mini-games to create their own N-Gage game, which can then be shared with others. Yamake is an important part of N-Gage because it encourages the community aspect, helping other mobile gamers to connect with each other while allowing them to become the creator instead of the consumer.
Yamake will be available soon for the N-Gage platform and will allow users to create games either on their mobile or on a PC with the appropriate software. Dr. Mark Ollila, Director of Technology and Strategy and Head of Games Publishing, Nokia, said, “This is exactly what the future of mobile gaming should be about - creating games that you love and want to play, then sharing them with other players.” I love that Nokia has people in charge of N-Gage with beliefs such as that. I’m convinced Yamake will be a ton of fun to use and share with.
