Jay Fenton Launches Scribe for S60v3 Wordpress Bloggers

Ewan over at SMStextnews is reporting that Jey Fenton of Howlertech.com and ROKTalk has put together a python-based application that I’ve been waiting for a long time to have. Scribe allows you to manage your Wordpress-based blog directly from your S60v3 handset, using Python for S60v3. It’s not really a pretty application thus far, but it’s functional, and that’s really all that matters.

Upon installation, you’ll need to enter in the location of your XMLRPC.php file, along with your username/password. Scribe will then authenticate you to make sure everything’s in order. From there, you can create a new blog entry and even manage existing drafts.

In the editing mode, you can type away with full on T9 support, and also select the categories for your blog post. The best part is that Jay smartly included an ‘insert’ menu that allows you to easily insert common HTML such as links and images and the like. This prevents you from having to manually type in a link tag or something similar.

To get the application, head on over to Jay’s site and get the installation file. Make sure you also have the latest version of Python for S60 installed before you install Scribe.

Killer work, Jay!

  3. Problem with installation

I successfully installed Python appl onto my Nokia E65.
When I install Scribe I’ve got the following error:
“Error with certificate! Please contact application provider” (more or less, I’ve had to translate from Italian).

    Can anybody help me?

    Thank in advance,
