N96 Possibly Hitting The UK in August
IntoMobile’s Ben Robinson’s sharp eye found a post on Mobile Choice UK where the Nokia N96, which was only just announced at the 2008 Mobile World Congress, is showing on the ‘Coming Soon’ pages of Carphone Warehouse as August 2008, which would be smack dab in the middle of the Q3 2008 timeframe that was announced at launch.
If you don’t recall, the Nokia N96 is a followup to the N95, retaining the dual-slide, but adding hidden gaming buttons in addition to the multimedia keys. There are also music playback keys surrounding the d-pad, and the device sports a small innovative kickstand and dual-LED flash. DVB-H and 16GB of internal memory, in addition to a microSD card slot are also available on this new device.
The N96 is certainly making waves around the internet as everyone fawns over it. We’re hoping to get our hands on one here at Symbian-Guru sometime in the future and will certainly put it through the gauntlet.
