Update: Ngage First Access Closing March 27th

The Nokia Ngage Blog has posted an update on the First Access program going on for Nokia N81 owners. First Access was designed to give N81 owners a sneak preview at the Ngage application and experience, and will be ending officially on March 27th. Current users will still be able to access the application and continue to play games, but the First Access version of the Ngage application will not be supported.

If you purchased a game during First Access, that license will carry over once the full version of Ngage is launched, which is great news. However, the username and password you created for First Access will be reset, so any points you accumulated will be lost (since you can’t redeem the points for anything, that’s not a huge deal.

Also, if you’ve been legitimately using the Ngage First Access application on a Nokia N81, they’d like you to participate in a survey, and will give you a free license for the Mile High Pinball game once the full commercial version is launched. You can participate in the survey here. Note that you’ll need the IMEI and firmware version of your N81 to complete the survey. UPDATE: In recognition of the fact that people have been using First Access on a variety of non-N81 handsets, and wanting the most feedback, they’ve opened the survey (and the free game license) to ANYONE who submits a survey.

There’s no word on when the full version of Ngage will launch, but given that CTIA is the first week of April, it’s highly likely we’ll see something there.
