The Nokia N95 8GB has finally been released with US 3G HSDPA 850/1900MHz for AT&T’s high speed network. The handset otherwise is the same as the existing model, with that beautiful 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and Carl Zeiss optics. Clad in all black, the buttons on top of the slider have been shrunk and raised slightly, and the display is a large 2.8″ QVGA.
The N95 8GB NAM is available at the Nokia Flagship Stores for $799, the same price that they previously sold the European version for. However, though the device is beautiful, it suffers from deadly slow USB data transfers, which makes loading music or movies through the USB cord a lengthy process. Online (and brick and mortar) retailer MobileCityOnline.com is also claiming to have a few in stock soon, priced at $689. We also just found out that MacMall has them for pre-order for 629.99$ which makes it a very good deal if you’re interested.
However, with the US 3G version of the original N95, which features a smaller 2.6″ display but retains the microSD slot, priced at $509-530 from online retailers, and 8GB microSD cards dropping in price, I personally would recommend purchasing that model instead if you intend to frequently change the content you have on the internal memory.
Either way, you now have one more option to get that S60 goodness in the U.S. with that beautiful, beautiful HSDPA data stream.
