Another carrier-exclusive handset was announced at CeBIT this morning, the 6650 clamshell S60v3 handset for T-Mobile. Unfortunately for those of you Stateside, this is T-Mobile International, not U.S. The 6650 is a sexy clamshell,
though, with a depressing 2 megapixel camera. It also features a 2.2″ QVGA display, along with support for T-Mobile’s MyFaves service.
A-GPS is built-in, naturally, alongside an FM radio and microSD card slot. HSDPA is there, likely on the 2100MHz band for Europe, and the 6650 will be available in both silver and black color schemes.
If the number seems familiar, it’s cause Nokia previously used it on one of the first 3G handsets, the 6650 (for Asia) and the 6651 (for AT&T). The original 665x handset was just about as fugly as they come. I’m glad to see that if Nokia is going to keep this silly recycling model numbers stuff going, they’re at least making the new ones look better.
