Off To Jordan
When I got the N95 and the N93i, I told you I had a nice project in line at the end of the week. Here are the details. I have been preparing, with a bunch of my friends, for a trip to Jordan. Jordan is a nice country with lot of historical sites (Petra), as well as touristic regions (Dead Sea), religious history (Jordan river) and others too. The trip, which comes in an Easter context, is hence a mix of a pilgrim and touristic 4-day bus trip, with almost no rest, no sleep.
The departure is tonight, midnight GMT time and I couldn’t be more excited about it. It’s my first time out of Lebanon, and I am going with my friends, before a very rough an stressful couple of months (read: I am graduating in July).
So where do the N95 and the N93i play a part? Well, I want to take loads of pictures, but I don’t want to take my digital camera. The battery lasts less than 10 minutes, so it’s pretty much useless. The laptop is out of question, because I’m afraid it’ll be lost of forgotten or dropped somewhere, plus it’s not practical. I will be relying solely on the N95 and the N93i during this trip, for everything from taking pictures with the N95 (and probably tagging them with Location Tagger) and videos with the N93i, to viewing them, listening to music, playing games, documenting the trip and, if I can find a WiFi spot in the hotels, I’ll even try uploading the pictures/videos to my Picasa, my new Flickr, my Blip and also posting here with Scribe. If it works, you can call it my own adaption of the Urbanista Diaries to the N95 and the N93i. I will also be keeping in touch on my Jaiku as I can post there with SMS and no need for a WiFi connection.
Here is a picture of the gadgets/accessories that I will be carrying (the N95 isn’t pictured as I used it to take the picture).

I have all my music on a 2GB microSD, all my applications installation files on a 128MB microSD just in case something went wrong and I needed to format any of the devices, another 2GB microSD in the N95 and one 1GB miniSD in the N93i. I have some games and videos, as well as applications installed carefully on both devices. I have tried to divide the apps between them so that I don’t overuse one device, as I know power will be very hard to find and I will have to hold till 10pm every day to get some juice. I also have one charger because the N93i that I received didn’t have a charger in the box (:s). I was expecting a package from Proporta with the coveted Mobile Charger, but unfortunately it didn’t arrive in time. I’ll have to live without it.I also have a cleaning cloth, 2 carrying cases and 2 neck straps for both devices, the Sony headphones that I reviewed a while ago, a headphone splitter and a couple of cables. So salute to all of you, and see you on Jaiku for sure, here if I can or on Tuesday if I can’t!
