SlingPlayer Mobile Updated For UIQ and S60v3

Slingplayer Mobile, which we announced a while back, is ready to be released for UIQ devices. Also, the S60v3 client will be receiving an update to better take advantage of the larger screen on the Nokia N95 8GB, and to provide better performance.

SlingPlayer Mobile works in conjunction with your Slingbox and allows you to ’sling’ your home television content anywhere that you have an internet connection. There is no monthly fee, just purchase the box and set it up and you’re ready to go. The coolest thing, I think, is that SlingPlayer Mobile emulates your TV/cable box’s remote control, giving you full control of your content. This is especially useful if you have a DVR and loads of content on there, and can be used to purchase Pay-Per-View content, as well as setting up DVR recordings on the go.

The new versions of Slingplayer Mobile are expected out this summer, so you’ve got time to get yourself a Slingbox if you don’t have one and get it all setup. If you already have a Slingbox, you can get the current version of SlingPlayer Mobile here, with a free update when the new ones come out.
