I finally got my Mobile Web Server up and running on my Nokia N95-3. The latest version, available here, works great, and has quite a few fun features, which we covered here before. I should be able to leave my mobile site, rcadden.mymobilesite.net up most of the time now, so you can head over and visit. Also, don’t forget the widgets that Jukka put together earlier this year, they work great for managing your handset on your PC.
I also wanted to let you guys know about a fun challenge that the Mobile Web Server team has put together. The creatively titled Mobile Web Server Challenge started back on March 25th, and runs until May 30, 2008. You can check out the full details here, but here’s the skinny:
Basically, they’re just challenging you to get involved with the Mobile Web Server project, and be creative. You can submit anything from a quality Wiki article to an actual web app, even just a new theme that can be used on mobile websites. Pretty simple, or you can get really complex, if you’re into that sort of thing.
The winners will be contacted on June 19th, and announced on June 30th. The top two contributions will receive a Nokia Nseries device (not specified), and the 3-5 place will receive ‘a service voucher for Ovi service’ (odd, I didn’t know Ovi was going to be for-pay. Interesting). There’s also a random drawing for another Nokia Nseries device, so you’ve got a chance, even if your contribution sucks. Hard to beat those odds, really.
