New Multimedia Menu Good For Something
Mark over at the Nokia Blog has finally found a neat little trick that offers some usefulness to the new Multimedia menu found on the N95 8GB, N82, and N81 handsets. Personally, I don’t care much for it, but Mark discovered that you can use the Internet tab (which automatically lists all your bookmarks) to open new tabs in the S60 web browser.
Tabs in the S60 web browser are nothing new, Jonathan Greene has chatted about them before, and I found a way, courtesy of Vaibhav over at The Symbian Blog, who has a killer post on how to open multiple tabs pretty easily.
Once you’re browsing, you can press the 5 key to toggle through your tabs, and can choose to close an individual tab, or close all but the current tab. Very handy, though it would be even MORE handy if there were a shortcut in the actual browser, without having to resort to these side steps.
Note that if you’ve got an older handset that’s low on RAM, you’re not likely to have a very positive experience with tabs in the browser, as they do use up quite a bit of extra ram.

I think I must be the only one that likes the Nokia Multimedia menu, not for the above trick but because if you assign the ‘Contacts’ tile as the first one you can add your top 5 contacts, then just press the ‘green button’ to call them or the ‘centre button’ to text them.
Finally Nokia made a multimedia menu that has a use!!
