Nokia Beta Labs Brings The Updates
Surfing through my RSS reader, I saw that the Nokia Beta Labs have posted updates to 2 of the lesser-known apps over there. The Nokia PC Phone application and Channels service both received sizable updates, along with several bugfixes.
PC Phone is a desktop app that allows you to control your phone from your web browser. This update adds quite a few key features, such as the ability to delete a call log entry. There are more ‘doing something’ status indicators available, and they’ve changed so you can force a full refresh with the browser’s refresh key. You can check out the full changelog here, and get the update here.
The Nokia Channels service has also received a complete overhaul, complete with new user interface. They’ve also added the ability to auto-update the content using smart access points. If you don’t have the application running, it will attempt to use any stored WiFi hotspots to update the headlines and content. If there is no WiFi available, it will alternatively use an Internet access point but only update the headlines, not the content. Users can disable this process in the settings easily.

The team has also published some user stats, showing that nearly half of the Channels are from Europe, but India and South-East Asia Pacific have decent representations, as well.
Are you using either of these apps, and do you think these are good updates? What other changes would you make? As pointed out below by Tommi (thanks), your feedback is best left on the corresponding BetaLabs page for each app, as that will filter it directly to the team involved.

Thanks for spreading the word

I would love if the comments to this kind of questions would be submitted at beta labs website, or to our private feedback channel. This is the best way to make an impact (I’m afraid the Nokia development teams have no capability follow all the comments threads out there).
