As I’m sure you already know, there’s a Nokia Music event in London tomorrow at 11:30p London time (that’s 3:30a, Texas time – ouch). Don’t worry, I’ll be up and at’em, ready to bring you the news of whatever gets announced. However, before hand, other than reminding you to check back here on Symbian-Guru for the coverage, I wanted to take a few stabs at what’s going to be announced.
Devices:
I don’t think this is a device launch. We may see a few S40 devices, but that’s it. There’s been nothing S60-related rumored or anything, and I just don’t feel like this has the panache to handle any hot devices.
Services:
I’m predicting that the Nokia Music Store will launch in a group of countries, probably more than 5. The launches have picked up recently, and I remember reading somewhere that they were planning on ramping up launches really soon. I’m going to guess that the rest of Europe will get support, but not the U.S.
Everyone else seems to think we’ll get some more Comes With Music information, and while they might be adding a few labels, officially, to the venture, I don’t see that as being the only reason. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were true, though.
What’s the one thing I *hope* to see? The Nokia desktop music manager. I’m sure most of you are sick of hearing me talk about it, but I was really truly excited by it, as I think that’s one of the major weaknesses in Nokia’s current music strategy. Do I honestly think we’ll see it announced? No. I’m trying not to get my hopes up. It’d sure be cool, though.
What do you think? Any guesses as to what we’ll see tomorrow morning?
