I can hardly keep up with the Nokia Beta Labs this week, after the hat trick earlier this week, they’ve updated Nokia Maps Beta to a new, more stable version, and also launched Nokia Step Counter.
The new Nokia Maps didn’t come with a changelog, but users are reporting much faster startup time, better searching, and more overall stability. They’ve also got an updated Map Loader. Since it’s on Beta Labs, it’s going to have a few bugs here and there, so if you find one, be sure to use this link to provide feedback, that goes straight to the team working on it.

The Nokia Step Counter is an update to the previously released Activity Monitor and sits quietly in the background of your accelerometer-equipped S60v3 handset, counting the steps that you take throughout the day. You can export the information to a handy chart, which makes it easy to see what days you need more exercise and which ones you’re really working it!

If the past week or so is any indication, the Nokia Beta Labs are just heating up, I’m sure we’ll see plenty more hot applications that add even more functionality to your Nokia S60-powered handset!
