Nokia E61i Feels The Update Love

Nokia E61i Feels The Update Love

After many many months of being neglected in the firmware department, the Nokia E61i has received an apparently much needed firmware update, from v1.0633.22.05 to v3.0633.69.00, according to rp_guy on HowardForums. The update is available on Nokia’s Software Update application, as always, so plug your phone up and get ready

I don’t have an E61i on hand, so I’m not sure what the changes are, but feel free to leave a comment if you notice anything or find a changelog somewhere. Apparently, the update isn’t available for all product codes, so if your handset *does* show the update, please kindly check the label behind your battery and report your product code (7-digit number) in the comments below. Thanks!

**Update** We’ve confirmed that product code 0549434 shows the update, but no real changes have been found. If you’re using the BlackBerry Connect application, you’ll need to pick up the updated one here: Download New BB Connect

  1. BlackBerry users take note, you’ll need to update BlackBerry Connect to the newest version. I posted the link in the HoFo thread mentioned on the post.

  2. What about the update for e65? not mentioned here, or was it before Nokia took it down again? Available since two days now. New firmware is 3.xx

  3. And what about the e61 update???

  4. [...] Symbian-Guru brings news that the E61i is the latest Nokia to receive a firmware update, this takes its current version from v1.0633.22.05 to v3.0633.69.00. The update doesn’t seem to be available across all regions but it has been confirmed to show up on the 0549434 product code. This update doesn’t seem to bring any major chances apart from the usual bug fixes and under the hood tweaks. If you find something new or different, do leave us a comment. [...]
