Snakes is one of those games that’s been around for decades, kinda like Pacman. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t get completely lost in an intense game of Snakes. Nokia’s known that for years, including the game on nearly every handset from the beginning of time (yes, I realize that’s an exaggeration). However, for the first time, they’re going to attempt to sell Snakes on the N-Gage platform. Ikona at the N-Gage Blog tips us off that next week is when we’ll see this game on N-Gage.
Personally, I think there’s something inherently wrong about being asked to pay for Snakes – especially from Nokia. However, what’s worse is that I already know that I’m going to be shelling out the $10 or whatever for a full license, without hesitation. Why? Because the new version is called Snakes Subsonic, and it looks simply fantastic! Snakes Subsonic offers a 3D environment, complete with the snake traversing multiple planes in the same level, and a soundtrack that changes tempo based on how well you’re doing in the game.
