First as you mentioned Slick, also been trying several different IM klients such as Agile Messenger, IM+ from Shape.

Have also been using the Windows Live as this gives med access to my hotmail account. However as you mentioned operators also provides different solutions. I tried the java Windows Live client from my operator Telenor during my time as a pilot tester of their services. Honestly that was a real pain and the experience was far from the Windows Live from Nokia.

However I haven’t really found one that I like 100% as there seems to be lack of different features e.g. the ability to send different files, GUI of the applications or that it simply don’t support connection via wifi (rarely now).

Agile Messenger was good, but as they were releasing new versions it could make the applicatoin crash.
Same with Slick but only when it comes to receiving certificates (Gtalk and sometimes from Windows Live).
The positive thing about Slick is that it is still free, while the others you have to pay for.

    Other solutions is
http://www.yamigo.com Yamigo which utilizes the inbuilt client.
It works ok, but not the best.
Else you have Gizmo (From Nokia Betalabs) or Gizmo5 (java client). The menus there are functional when it comes to shortcuts, but the navigation is not the most intuitive out there.

My conclusion. Windows Live Messenger and Slick works best.

@Icyhot1966 – I had to refresh the N81 8GB and N82, but it still wouldn’t show up on the E90, all with the same SIM card, so it might be still filtering down.

i use nimbuzz and i found it very good and easy to use. It supports most of im services and the best part is that it is free.
