LG KT610 First Reactions

LG KT610 First Reactions

I’ve had the LG Kt610 on my desk for a few days now, and before I lay out my review, I want to get any questions you might have answered. You can check out a full-on gallery over at MobileBurn.com.

If you’re unfamiliar with the LG KT610, it was announced back in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It features the same lengthwise clamshell form factor as the E90, but with fewer specs. It’s also MUCH smaller, measuring up shorter and thinner than the N82, though slightly wider.  The front face of the KT610 is a dead simple featurephone, with extremely large buttons and a 2-way d-pad. The tiny external display is actually adequate for most functions, such as messaging.

Flip’er open and you’ve got a full QWERTY keyboard with that ultra-nice 4th row for numbers, as well as stereo speakers. The keys are beautifully spaced out, as well, but I’ll cover that more in a later post.

Here’s the raw specs:

  • Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz)
  • WCDMA 2100MHz with HSDPA
  • Built-in GPS receiver
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • 2.4″ QVGA internal display
  • 1.45″ 160×64 pixel resolution external display
  • S60v3 Feature Pack 1
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • MicroSD card slot
  • 950mAh battery

That’s it for now. Please post any questions you have about the LG KT610 here. I’ll be covering this S60 handset in multiple parts, to give you the most complete coverage you’ll find, and will make sure to answer your questions along the way.

*Edit* Somehow the ‘first reactions’ portion didn’t make it past the ‘publish’ button.

Without having synced my information to it, or put a SIM in, these are my first reactions:

1. VERY solid build qualit - no squeaks/moans during normal usage and handling

2. The QWERTY keyboard is *really* nice to type on

3. I *WISH* it had GSM 850MHz

More to come in the next few days.
