LG KT610 Review: Overview
We’ve taken a look at the LG KT610 in terms of gaming, hardware, imaging, and music. This diminutive handset slips easily into your pocket, yet flips open to reveal a nicely laid out QWERTY keyboard. How does it hold up?
Sadly, unless you’re an S60 lover looking for a killer IM/email handset and not much else, the LG KT610 tries to be several things, and yet falls short on so many. The lack of GSM 850MHz means that your coverage is limited once you hit the North American continent (though, admittedly, it’s not designed for us, it should still offer a world traveler some connections).
The music experience is good, but there are several things lacking that prevent it from being a true ‘musicphone’. These include a standard 3.5mm audio port (or at least an in-box adapter) and Bluetooth A2DP support for stereo headsets. I could look past the lack of dedicated music keys if these other items were present.
It seems, though the hardware is nice, there’s nothing that the LG KT610 truly stands out for. The 2 megapixel camera is very status quo, with little options and not even a flash. The resulting pictures aren’t bad, for a 2 megapixel camera, but that’s it.
I can’t help but wish that LG had taken some initiative with this model, and put *something* in there to really do well in a specific category. The QWERTY keyboard is a true pleasure to use, but unfortunately that’s the only thing that really stands out on this cell phone. I’d truly love to see either Samsung or LG bring an S60-powered handset to the market that actually competes with Nokia’s offerings - but the LG KT610 isn’t that device.

Looks nice, but as the size truly has its compromises when it comes to specs of the phone.
The screen is in my opinion ok, but to buy a device for just typing purposes with a minimum of specs is unfortunate.
Guess I’ll stick to Nokia still.
(Been Nokia user since Nokia 5110 came out)
Tried the HTC 730 which my friend owns and it was quite impressive when it came to the feel of the keypad.
However navigating in the menus was not so easy as with the S60 menus. Also that phone is also a bit outdated.
