Nokia Music PC Client Updated To V1.5
Wow, what a morning! I woke up to find that the Nokia Music PC Client has been updated today, to version 1.5, which is quite a leap. Mark Wheatley, in his guest post at the Nokia Beta Labs Blog, states that the update features over 100 bugfixes that were reported from the first beta, and there have been a few new features added, such as a lighter color theme and support for ripping to AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ format.
While these are small new features, and I’m still looking for the ability to create my own autoplaylists, with granular settings, as well as a few other changes, I’m mostly impressed that this new version installed AND ran on my computer with no effort. That in of itself is a big change over the last version, if you recall.
Please note, if you’re using Vista, you’ll need to manually uninstall the older version of Nokia Music PC Client before installing the updated one.
In terms of the future of the application, Mark lets us know that they’re already working on one more beta version, which is set to be available sometime after July 28th, and that it will be the last ‘beta’ version before going full production, which is a good sign of the progress of the application.
I’ve been using it more and more for music, specifically for the LG KT610, and really like the new version of the Nokia Music PC Client. I’m really looking forward to where else this app will go, and think it’s already becoming a strong contender on my desktop. At least we can all acknowledge that it’s MILES better than the Nokia Music Manager garbage, am I right?
Well it still can’t detect my internet connection so it cant synch with the online store so pretty useless still
@Eric the music store sync portion of the application is not intended to be available yet, that’s why the application is in the Beta Labs - it’s beta.
If you read Mark’s announcement post, linked above, the music store integration will be activated sometime after the next release.
sorry, but I would like to ask about establishing a connection between my Nokia phone and the music client.
the client doesn’t seem to be picking up the cable connection via USB. =( please help!
When you connect your phone, what mode are you putting your phone in, on the popup?
