Another fun update to the insanely popular Nokia SportsTracker application was slipped out yesterday, upping the version to 1.78. This new version adds a feature that they’re currently testing that allows the SportsTracker application to record the track title and artist name of the music you listen to as you’re exercising.
The music information is then published on the map that shows in the various SportsTracker widgets, allowing others to see what it is that’s motivating you to speed up, or slow down, during your routine. The feature is in testing, so some of the UI enhancements are not yet present, and obviously the information isn’t passed along to Last.FM, which I’m sure is the first thing you guys’ll want to know (though if that’s a concern, you should be using Mobbler already).
Italian language support is also included in this new update. To get it, you should be able to simply open the SportsTracker application on your phone, and it will automatically check for update. You can also download it directly from the SportsTracker page on the Nokia Research Center here.
