What’s The Ugliest S60 Of All Time?
While having a discussion on Jaiku about the LG KT610 (with which I’m actually experiencing a few technical difficulties, so stay tuned for the coverage), someone asked where I thought the LG KT610 ranked in terms of the ugliest S60 handset of all time. You’ll recall when I first caught wind of the device at MWC, I said I thought it was hideous, but having it on my desk, it’s alot better looking than I imagined through the photos available then.
So……we wanted to know, what do you think is the ugliest S60-powered phone of all time? Keep in mind that ANY S60-powered phone is eligible, and we’re talking purely design, with no reference to features or abilities or that sort of thing.
My votes include the N78 (as you know), the N91, and the original N-Gage. What do you think? What’s your vote for the ugliest design of an S60 handset, to date? Leave your vote in the comments, it’ll be interesting to see everyone’s votes.
Definately Nokia 3650.
Both Ngage/Ngage QD were ugly but 6600 tops them in my opinion
It’s a toss up between the 6600 and the 6630, That booty on the 6630 definitely edges it!

I’m torn between the 3650 and the 3250 but i think the keypad on the 3650 clinches it
N81, N96, N78 — all the phones that seem to use that flat keyboard reference design, c’mon Nokia, they are just fugly as hell.
I’d say the 3650 was the worst.The 3660 wasnt any better.Lastly the 3250.
People…are we all forgetting the Siemens SX1? I think it and the Nokia 3650 are a close tie.

In my opinion, the Siemens SX1. Even though other s60 phones have had awkward keyboards (like the 3650, n-gage, etc.), the SX1 is the only s60 phone that I can think of that is virtually impossible to use without hunting and pecking everytime. and it’s not even just the keyboard. that phone was just ugly all around.

-Siemens SX1: ugly, from top to bottom. FAIL.
-Nokia 3650: ugly keyboard & ontop of screen area. FAIL.
-Nokia 6600: watch out, it’s pregnant ! FAIL.
-Nokia 6630: is that a booty or what ? FAIL.
-Nokia N91: Mars Attack aliens were involved in the design of this one, weren’t they ? FAIL.
NGage phones did have unusual designs since they were phones, but they were meant to be handheld consoles too, and from that point of view it’s ok to me.
LG KT610 isn’t pretty in the photos I’ve seen so far, but it seems more cheap (build quality wise) than ugly to me, so ok to me too

Another vote for the 3650 here. It’s the only s60 device that I’ve taken one look at and straight away thought I will NEVER EVER own one of these.
Hey hey lay off the remote control (3650). That was my first s60. People used to say it looks like a remote control and I verified that statement when iRremote used to work.
I came here to defend the 3650 and 6600, but too late it seems =(
I had both and they were awesome and different thankyouverymuch. Plus the SX1 had that unique-ness going for it, inspired by formula 1 race cars.
At last, my vote goes for the 5700, hmpt.
7650. No matter how revolutionary and beloved by all, it was not pretty. 3250 is a very close second.
For 3650 Nokia actuall deserves credit for having the balls to do something different.
Scratch that. The LG is by far the ugliest. I almost lost eye sight when I saw it just now. Fuck that thing is hideous!

As for ugly, I agree that earlier Nokia models beat everything hands down. LG dont even come close to that level of clumsiness, heavyhanded ness, and hideosity.
Also, any phone with a rounded bottom (I am looking at you, 6220) automatically qualifies as fugly for me.
I was one of the few who owned the 6670. Awesome camera for a simple 1mp.
My vote goes for the 3230, which was released around the same time as the 6630.
I’d say the 3650 or 7610.
I was never a fan of funky keypad design.
6600 wz my first s60 phone. At that time (2003) it wz the coolest phone for me, design wise as well as the performance. But nw thinkn of it…me too feel its one of the ugliest designs
