One of my favorite things about S60 is the sheer number of useful applications available to extend the functionality of my handset. I can install any number of applications to allow my cell phone to perform nearly any function that I’d like. One of the big pains, then, is installing all of these applications on my phone after a firmware update or when I get a new phone. Each application has any number of popup notifications/questions that makes installing all my apps take forever.
Thanks to TongRen at ThinkChange.cn, that’s all behind us. AutoSisInstaller is a free (kinda) application that automates the whole installation process for any number of applications. Simply drop them all into a folder on your memory card (you’ll need to create one called ‘ThinkChange’) and then click ‘StartInstall’. It appears to install to the phone’s internal memory, and I don’t see a way to change that, which is fine by me, but older phones might have an issue with this.
The application is available unsigned for free, or for a small donation (US$5+), you can get a fully signed version emailed to you within 24 hours. I’ve already donated, and hope to get the signed version soon so that I can use it on all of my devices. I also downloaded the unsigned version, since I have a certificate for my N95-3, and took a screenshot for you.
Thanks to P@sco for the headsup on this app.
