N-Gage Plans to Add Support For Other Devices

The N-Gage team has just simultaneously gotten the support of some, and earned the hatred of others, all in one swoop. How so? For the first time since the official re-launch of the N-Gage gaming platform, the team has added pending support for additional devices. However, instead of *finally* supporting the models which have been used in marketing material since before the launch, such as the N73, N93, and N93i, the N-Gage team has decided it’s more important to pledge support for three newer handsets, the N78, 5320, and N96, despite the latter two not officially being on sale yet.

Granted, they’ve not actually launched a new client or anything, but only added these three devices to the ’supported soon’ list. Still, it’s not really so much of a surprise, specifically considering that N-Gage is doomed anyways, but if you’re one of the extra-early adopters out there who already have your mitts on the Nokia N78, you should soon be able to get your N-Gage on. For everyone else still waiting in vain, there are some pretty cool games available *now* from the Download! client already installed on your ‘old’ device – from the same developers, such as Vivendi Games, Glu Mobile, and Gameloft.

Game on.

  1. I had to read the page several times before noticing that information.

Surely they are not promoting it very much, writing this info with such a small font.

It seems as thought the ‘N’ in N-gage can soon be changed to Nokia instead of N-series. .-p

I really hope they update their N-gage client as there’s still some bugs in it as you previously wrote about. (And yes, some are still very frustrating)

  2. 5320 is already selling even in America by Plemix for $349.
