The Guru

The Guru, aka Ricky Cadden, started Symbian-Guru.com in November 2006, out of his excitement for the S60 3rd Edition version of Symella. The Guru has used Symbian devices since the Nokia 6620, and is known for his perspective as a power user. You can follow The Guru on Twitter at @Rcadden

    Thanks for the info.
    It’s nice with alternatives to the clients already out there.

    However I never got Gizmo from Betalabs to really work on my devices. (I had to be contacted by people, not being able to initiate the conversation myself)

    Going to test it out.

    Hey just wanna add to ya guru, minor update for the pc music client…..Also for nokia account, it is used by My Nokia for my back up, and aslo one more which im not sure of but its somthin my imaging community(somethin like that)

    It’s a great application. Just be careful you guys people will have access to your phone number if your their buddy. Not sure if it bothers anyone but I was pretty shocked when someone testing out the application accidently called me today.

    The real news to that application, is that the dev team has made a real good choice: Nokia Chat is interoperable with XMPP (eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol), known under the name “Jabber”, the protocol used by GTalkGMail chat system, but also Gizmo, LiveJournal, Facebook, jabber.org etc.

    XMPP is the only true federating open standard in Instant Messaging and Presence space.
