Justin Berkovi, a guest writer over at AllAboutSymbian.com, has posted his review of the Nokia CK-300 car kit. Nokia’s accessories, which are usually pretty high quality, get very little coverage, anywhere, and it’s something that bothers me. I’d like to see, in the future, Nokia bundling its excellent accessories with its cell phones. Why not tack on an extra $50 and toss in a set of Bluetooth stereo speakers with a music-centric handset, or a custom car mount with a navigation-centric handset?
In any case, the Nokia CK-300 is a minimalist car kit that mostly sits behind your dash, but does offer a small remote with just a few necessary buttons. The rest of the kit uses the display of your cell phone to interact, offering a comfortable viewing medium for you, and allowing even better integration by supporting A2DP Bluetooth stereo streaming to your car, which is very handy indeed.
You can click here to read through Justin’s coverage, including plenty of screenshots of the application that is installed on your S60-powered handset. I also dug up this video walkthrough on YouTube, to give you a bit better idea of the whole setup.
You can pick up the Nokia CK-300 car kit from Amazon for a staggering $205
