I too am trying the same since last two days. But even with the setting of Email Notification set to ‘ON’, I didnt got any display on standby screen… And when I checked the activation status it shows me that my subscription is activated till July 2009….. So does it mean that it will be free till then and to renew they may charge something…..

Hey Ricky I’ve been using it for almost a day now and it works good so far. Wish it would tie in with my theme though. And sometimes it doesn’t sync my email for like a half hour at a time. I’m sure thats something that needs to be worked out with the nokia server.

btw i’m using the n95 version on my n82 since they didn’t have a version yet.

As a die-hard user of IMAP in the built-in S60 email client, I was pretty excited about trying this out on my N95-3. So far it will only send messages. I have yet to receive/sync any messages at all with this application. Without syncing, this application is worthless for me.

Also, what’s with the extra “E-mail setup” item in my applications folder? Is there any way to remove that without removing the entire Nokia Email application?

    Not impressed.

Looks very good for a start, but as I already have Profimail on my handset it would be redundant to save my emails on two different places. Here I presume that the emails are downloaded and stored on the handsets’ memory card.

As Mike and germ pointed out about the syncing there seems to be som bug / heavy traffic on their servers.

I will however try it in due time.

It is good to see that Nokia have extended their internet services again.

Hm, looks like someone have hammered their servers too much.
    (That’s strange….?)

Well, guess I’ll just have to try again later.
Thanks for the useful info by the way >_ Nokia Photos, Location Tagger, Nokia Devices etc.)

However I’m happy that Nokia is trying to offer a whole experience besides the phone in which they are currently trying.
It would provide better experience for the overall users out-of-the-box.

There will always be better applications with better solutions that users can find.

I do think regardless that too strong integration with the phone is also unfortunate such as the Share Online if you already have for instance Shozu. Then again such things mostly just bothers power users and not the overall user.

It’s working pretty well for me so far, but as others have noted, I don’t see any notification on the standby screen when new email comes in. Once they work the bugs out this will be a pretty good program. It’s much better than the built in S60 email program.

It only finds emails from gmail imap if they are in the inbox, until it has the ability to read the emails in the other folders it is useless to me.

I like the use of space but, much cleaner than the default mail client.

    All,

This is not a new application. This is a re-branded version of Intellisync. I installed this ‘new’ application and it uninstalled my Intellisync for Nokia application.

it shows the new emails on Standby screen on my E51, but I guess the e-series Standby is more customizable anyway. I really like the design and the layout of the client, much better than the default one. However, I wish they would include an option to sync with the IMAP-Folders, as only then I will be able to access all my email.

But as a first step, it’s already really good. What I don’t understand, though, is why Nokia is bringing out all these new services (My Nokia Backup, Nokia Push Email) and does not include them under the ovi branch. When will they finally get there and bring about one unified login place?

Why could this not be intergrated into the messaging app, If it showed up as a mailbox rather than another icon in the menu ( two new icons if you need the settings part too)

Program seems to work quite well on N95-2, still need to do something more to beat SEVEN in my book.

Hm. Loaded it, got annoyed with the fact it didn’t sync for download, and even more annoyed that it mucks up the phone’s config (permanently setting Active Standby on).

I’m really disappointed with Nokia’s inability to write software and implement it properly….. and why have they crippled the N95 so that it cannot be configured like the equivalent E series?

I figured out how the use Google Apps with Nokia Email. With a simple javascript line entered into the addressbar it is possible to change the emailaddress.

First enter a “valid” email address “name@imap.google.com” and your Google Apps password and name. After clicking next you’ll get a screen which asks you if it is a internet or corporate mail. Select internet mail and paste the following javascript line into your address bar, edit the email address and press enter.

    javascript:var myForm = document.forms['addEmailMoreInfo'];myForm.addEmailMoreInfo_addEmailBean_emailAddress .value=”";alert(myForm.addEmailMoreInfo_addEmailBean_emailA ddress.value);

After pressing next you’ll get a screen with the changed emailaddress. Enter the correct name and imap.gmail.com as incoming server and 993 as incoming port. And you’re finished.

I wrote a blog about this with some screenshots. Take a look:
