I figured out how the use Google Apps with Nokia Email. With a simple javascript line entered into the addressbar it is possible to change the emailaddress.

First enter a “valid” email address “name@imap.google.com” and your Google Apps password and name. After clicking next you’ll get a screen which asks you if it is a internet or corporate mail. Select internet mail and paste the following javascript line into your address bar, edit the email address and press enter.

javascript:var myForm = document.forms['addEmailMoreInfo'];myForm.addEmailMoreInfo_addEmailBean_emailAddress .value=”";alert(myForm.addEmailMoreInfo_addEmailBean_emailA ddress.value);

After pressing next you’ll get a screen with the changed emailaddress. Enter the correct name and imap.gmail.com as incoming server and 993 as incoming port. And you’re finished.

Hm. Loaded it, got annoyed with the fact it didn’t sync for download, and even more annoyed that it mucks up the phone’s config (permanently setting Active Standby on).

I’m really disappointed with Nokia’s inability to write software and implement it properly….. and why have they crippled the N95 so that it cannot be configured like the equivalent E series?
