Open At Your Own Risk!

Open At Your Own Risk!

I recently got a tip to check out a dark, secretive new website at OpenAtOwnRisk.com. The story unfolds that hundreds of years ago, a bunch of royal families got together to create a clip. This clip was supposed to be the weirdest thing ever created, and it actually ended up *too* weird.

Thus, it was locked up in a box with four seals. The instructions on how to break these four seals has been secret for years, through generations and generations. The secret instructions were hidden inside such historical things as the Edison lightbulb, the Wright Brothers’ airplane, and Apollo 11.

The seals will be broken, according to a timer hidden on the site, on Monday at 4am CST (GMT-600). You can bet I’ll be making Rita wake up extra early for it.

  7. Woohoo, another “The Secret”

  8. So that site is from Nokia? Could it be just about open S60… or new smartphone!

  9. The blurb says “grande” instead of “grand” - is this an E-series launch?

  10. i just find the (hidden) Nokia Nseries logo in the flash file

    so i guess NEW Nseries :) :) :)

  11. Hmmm… Could be something to do with the film competition Nokia ran recently.

  12. Looks exciting.
Guess we’ll just have to wait until the countdown is over.

  13. 11 in the morning in my country :) So I did not even have to get up the early morning :)

  14. Site got shutdown due to court order LOL

  15. was it shut down or is it part of a bigger plan to surprise us

  16. Hmm, I’ve got a few ideas on this. First, considering the notice has a bit of a typo and some of the letters were revealed by mistake, there might just be a secret message in it. Second, how ’bout some of you check if there really is a law against insanity content. Third, I’m making a trailer on it from the scary movie 3 trailer; I wonder if this would work for scary movie 5?

  17. I’m not quite sure to make of what the url is showing right now!

  18. Time expired and nothing happens…

  19. site seems to be down… :-(

  20. Hey all,
I have just checked, the site has been removed?!
    What is going on???

  21. Hey, I blogged about this too (www.speakmediablog.com). I think a big problem with this is the timing of the 101 hours fell over the 4th of July holiday so most North Americans were on the beach instead of online.

The cease and desist letter is clearly a joke designed to make us anticipate something really freaky, but it doesn’t work if people don’t see it.

  22. @Jennifer - Thanks for the link, I enjoyed your site (and subbed, to catch your future posts).

It’s interesting, indeed. The letter even initially fooled me, until I read it really carefully. It might have been better if there was something more obvious to show it was a fake.

I’m mostly just disappointed that it’s now past the countdown time, and there’s nothing different in either my E90, N82, or N95-3’s Download! app. Nothing new, nothing missing, and nothing changed, since Friday.

  23. Not only has this campaign turned out to be fruitless(so far), it seems that the whole “where’s Anssi?” thing has also been forgotten…

  24. I really don’t know what they are up too… but as I posten on my blog, a ’secret’ application turned up in my Download! application (e51) today… it seems to want me to enter some code on their stupid website, but that is still offline. Yeah, great…

  25. I have always thought that the key to ultimate weirdness would always be weirdness, don’t think that helps us in anyway with this matter though. but i am just as deturmined to crack this website as I was to crack JK Rowling’s website.

I’m sure if we all pitch in we could unlock the secrets, i love adventures.
