S60 Apps Receiving Updates

S60 Apps Receiving Updates

While Finland takes the whole summer off, that doesn’t stop other parts of Nokia from updating their various applications, even if they do so quietly, without much fanfare. I try to keep up with these things, so that you can always have the latest versions on your various S60 devices, but sometimes I fall behind and am forced to do one of these little ‘recap’ posts.

Python for S60 was updated over the weekend to v1.4.4, bringing a few miscellaneous bugfixes and whatnot. If you’re really interested, you can check out the detailed release notes here. You can download the new version of Python for S60 here.

Nokia Maps V2.0 was also recently updated, as was the corresponding Map Loader (not the beta, but the public one). Maps for your phone is now up to v2.0.2402, while the Map Loader application is up to v1.3.12. Small changes, obviously, but clearly there’s been *something* changed, else they wouldn’t have a new version. I was able to snag the direct download links (Nokia’s silly and thinks that Flash-laden download pages are everyone’s friend). You can click here to get the new Maps, and click here to get the new Map Loader.

  4. I hope it has fixed the issues of not showing up guides when connected with N82 as I didn’t get to see those last time I tried.

(Long story short. I ended up taking my memory card out and plug it into my laptop to make it work. Cause - Got Asian fonts installed in my phone.)
