Share On Ovi Continuing Picture Themes

Share On Ovi Continuing Picture Themes

One of the things we did as part of the S60 Ambassadors Share on Ovi campaign was to choose a theme of the week. These varied from water to doors to food and beyond, and was a cool way to give people a reason to upload to Share on Ovi, and resulted in some *really* cool pictures. You can cruise through the various pictures and themes over at the Consumed by S60 blog, if you want to see some samples.

What’s even cooler than that is that the Share on Ovi team have decided to continue the project themselves, starting with ‘best1′. This is really simple to participate. Simply use your free Share on Ovi account to upload your photos, and tag them with the current theme. That’s it. You can do it all from your phone, which makes it even easier.

I’ve switched my personal photos and videos from Flickr/Blip.tv to using Share on Ovi exclusively, and am currently working on a detailed look at the service, as well. It works really well, but there are quite a few glaring issues that need to be addressed ASAP. Look for that piece on Symbian-Guru this coming week.

Meanwhile, are you using Share on Ovi? If not, it’s free, go sign up. If yes, what things do you love, and what things drive you absolutely mad?

*Disclaimer: I currently work for Nokia on the S60 Ambassadors program. However, my choice to use Share on Ovi over other service is due to the fact that I can now keep my pictures and videos in a single place, and it is nicely integrated with my phone and other Nokia-related things such as Nokia Photos and the new Ovi Suite.

  1. I use Share on Ovi because i like the possibilty to use it from nearly everywhere (still have to use Shozu since my old fashioned e65 doesn´t support direct upload :( ). What i like to see though would be an image (or media) uploading tool for Vista and what really would be neat, if you could order real prints from your photos uploaded. That´s a point which makes me not upload all my pics and stuff there because i see no reason why to double upload things (one on Share on Ovi and one to a photo service that sends me the prints). I never tried another media storing site, so i can´t compare, but i like Share on Ovi and don´t feel the need to try another service.

If you want to see my media, the link is provided under the “Website” thing in this post. Some photos from this years holiday.

  2. I’ve been using Share on Ovi since its inception. Its fantastic and so easy to use.
They now have Facebook integration also.
I used Flickr for a bit but found it lacking at times. I like the fact I can store and share documents also, as well as video.
