What’s Coming Down The Road
I realize it’s been quite a while since we’ve had a good old fashioned site update post here on Symbian-Guru, and it’s high time that I let you know what Dotsisx and I have been up to. My to-do list is growing - quickly - so if there’s a slight lack of news here on Symbian-Guru, that’s cause I’m working on more cool stuff for you. Like what, you ask?
Rita’s recently finished up her thesis (a BIG congratulations on that) and I’ve been pounding away on half a dozen other things. Now that we’re both coming back in full-force, you can expect things to pick up quickly here. Rita’s also expecting a few new things on her desk in the next few days, though right now I’m not supposed to tell you what, exactly (she likes surprising you guys).
I’ve been beta testing a few applications from various companies, some of which I really hope will be ready for you guys to play with, REAL soon. While I can’t give specifics, I can say that there is an LBS-solution that I’ve been playing with and REALLY like. There’s also some more presence-based tools coming shortly from various companies.
Also, since we’ve launched the Symbian-Guru Store, we’ll be doing at least one application review every week now, with an application that’s available to purchase in the Store. If you have anything you’d like to see reviewed (or that’s not listed in the store) please either leave a comment here or use the Contact Us link up top and we’ll get on it.
I have recently made a few updates to the mobile Symbian-Guru website (just head to www.Symbian-Guru.com on your phone, no special URL needed). A reader requested that bylines be added to the mobile site, so I’ve done that, and I’m working to figure out how to get YouTube videos available to our mobile visitors, as well. The new Symbian-Guru Store is also available in a mobile format, and I’ve added a handy link to that, as well. I’ve also added a link to the Symbian-Guru OPML file there on the mobile site, towards the bottom.
Within the next few weeks, we’re going to launch a Reader Survey here at Symbian-Guru, mainly so that we can find out what you guys love (and don’t love) here at Symbian-Guru, and what you’d like to see in the future. As a thanks for completing the survey, we have a surprise giveaway, as well.
There’s more cool stuff coming, but I wanted to check in and let you know that we’re working hard behind the scenes to give you, the reader, the most up-to-date coverage of things that you actually care about and can help you get the most out of your Symbian-powered device. Please, don’t hesitate to leave a comment or use the Contact Us page if you have any feedback you’d like to leave.
P.S. - I hope you don’t mind, but I skipped Driving with the Guru this week. I’ve been so busy working on this other stuff, I didn’t have a chance to record one. Don’t worry, though, we’ll pick up where we left off next week.

Of course we forgive you for not getting out an episode of “Driving With the Guru”.
As a matter of fact we all have other works to do, than being online all the time.
I’m not even sure if I should call your website a blog or not as I regard this as a news website with lots of good information.
(I don’t clearly know the specific differences between a blog and a news site)
From my impression you do this for the community that’s out there and that you put a lot of your spare time into it.
If you however overwork yourself it wouldn’t be so fun anymore.
(Darlamack was tired a period because she was too busy)
We’ll wait patiently for news even if they don’t come out at once.
I’ve also been reading your different reviews on Mobileburn and they are very detailed.
So just take your time and do your thing.
reminds me that I have some site cleanup to do as well!
Sounds interesting.
But no excuse for a missing Episode of Driving with the Guru. Don“t know what to do on my friday evening now.
