As I was moving all day Thursday and Friday, we missed out on quite a bit of news around the web here at Symbian-Guru.com. Rather than flood you with posts, I’m going to hit you with the links all in one post, so that you can easily catch up with it all. Get your middle-clicker ready to open in tabs, and here you go:
General News:
Bounce: Boing Voyage is a new game available for N-Gage where you guide a ball through various 3D levels. AllAboutNgage gave it an 84% ‘Recommended’ rating.
The Nokia Music Store is now live and connected to the Nokia Music PC Client, if you live in an area where the Music Store was already live. Unfortunately, I live in the United States, a locale that apparently Nokia could care less about, so I’ve still got nothing.
Software Updates:
Nokia Software Updater has been updated to v1.4.53. No clue what the changes are, though.
Nokia introduces We:Offset, a free application that allows you to offset the CO2 emissions you produce as you travel, by making a donation directly from your handset.
Nokia Chat is updated to crash less and use up less battery. Download the update here (here’s the support file, if you’re setting it up for the first time)
MirageMoney2, the accelerometer-based game, is now out, with several updated features, such as more coins in the sky and an option to turn the sound on or off. (Thanks for the email, Fadi!)
Graham Oldfield has updated the S60 Lightsaber app to v1.62. This hails as the most popular post on Symbian-Guru, ever, along with my video demo of the original version.
Phone Reviews:
James Burland has gone 2 days with the Nokia 6220 Classic, looking overall, and directly at the video taking abilities.
Steve Litchfield has gotten his hands on the Samsung i8510 Innov8, which could be the first real S60 powerhouse to come from someone aside from Nokia.
The Nokia 6210 Navigator is now on sale in India, priced around US$430.
First images leaked of the Samsung i7110c, which looks to be yet another S60-powered candybar from the Korean manufacturer.
Over at SymbianWorld.org, Norman’s unboxed the Nokia 6650, a sexy S60v3 FP2 clamshell for T-Mobile German.
Whew! I think that about covers us, and gets things back up to speed. Stay tuned this week for some really great posts on the Nokia E71, a themes roundup, and a few application reviews/comparisons!
