Nokia BH-703 Review
Upon first using the Nokia BH-703 bluetooth headset, I was reminded a lot of the BH-803 that I had a couple of weeks ago. After a couple of weeks with it, the similarities are even more striking than before, that I couldn’t get myself to write this review without mentioning the BH-803 at least a dozen times. I hope this puts things into perspective for anyone looking for a cool new bluetooth headset.
The 2 headsets share a similar styling with nice black plastic material, though from a very personal point of view, I find the BH-703 more elegant, due to the silver metallic pattern. They also both have one physical button, which is the Call key, and although it may seem small on the BH-703, it’s very well defined by the silver pattern around it, making it easy to find and press. The BH-703 also features the touch controls for volume adjustment which I found a bit easier to handle. I don’t know if they are less sensitive than the BH-803 or if I got used to this kind of volume control.

The similarities don’t stop here as the BH-703 also carries a microUSB port for charging, which is by far my biggest annoyance, the same ear loop system as the BH-803 as well as the same accessory: an around the neck carry-on. This gadget I loved having with the BH-803 since I had a problem wearing it in my ear for a long time.

Fortunately, this is a problem I am not facing with the BH-703 since it came with 3 earpiece sizes. For a little comparison, the biggest one is the same size of the BH-803’s earpiece. I found myself juggling between the Medium and Small sized pieces until I settled for the Medium. The small one was a bit too tiny to make the headset hold on my ear. With the medium, the headset sits still and can be worn for a long time, though I still appreciate the around the neck piece when I want to remove the BH-703 without losing it.

Call quality has been very good so far, I haven’t had an opportunity to test it in windy surroundings since it’s summer here, and the only wind we get is from the A/C with Swing Louver on. But so far I haven’t had anyone complain about call quality with the BH-703.
Overall, I’d have to say that with a price point lower than the BH-803, a nicer look and a definitely more comfortable earpiece, the BH-703 isn’t at all a bad investment if you want a slick bluetooth headset.

i hear you guru, the shiny metal patern does make this headset stand out more than the bh-803. Have you ever got a chance to review the bh-902 headset?
