The European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has been handing Nokia its award for the top Media Phone since 2005, when the award was created. Previous winners include the Nokia N90, N93, and N95. This year, however, the award was changed to the Smart Phone award, and Nokia has been pushed off the pedestal.
This year, the HTC Touch Diamond has taken over as the top Smart Phone, with its VGA-resolution touchscreen display and 3D TouchFlo interface. Nokia didn’t actually win any of the EISA awards this year, with the Photo Phone title going to the Samsung G810, and the Sony Ericsson W980i giong for Music Phone.
So, despite its popular Nseries product line offering such handsets as the Nokia N82 for imaging or the N81 8GB for music, Nokia seems to be falling behind the competition, at least as far as the EISA is concerned. What do you think? Is Nokia slowly losing its multimedia dominance in the smartphone arena?
