Gearing up for its planned release date of October 1, the Nokia N96 has passed through the FCC’s rigorous testing procedures. The Nokia N96 was announced earlier this year at the 2008 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This powerhouse offers up a 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus, 16GB of internal storage paired with a microSD card slot, DVB-H support, a large 2.8″ QVGA display, and dual-sliding goodness with dedicated music/gaming keys. The best part though, is the fun little kickstand that pops out from around the camera lens.
The Nokia N96 brings you quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) and dual-band WCDMA (900/2100MHz), which means that the model that passed the FCC will not support AT&T’s 3G network here in the United States. However, given that the N95 and N95 8GB were both announced without US 3G, but later a compatible version was announced, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a US 3G N96 eventually.

You can peruse through the FCC filing here, though there’s not much in there that we don’t already know.
