Quik Pod Makes Self Videos Easy
So, you’ve got this sweet new Nokia S60-powered phone, and it takes videos. Great, but you’re wanting to start your own video podcast, or make instructional videos, or just videos of yourself walking around talking, but can’t quite figure out how best to hold the camera. Aside from tricking your younger sibling into spending the afternoon as a cameraman, you could easily pick up the Quik Pod to hold your camera for you.
Mark Guim over at The Nokia Blog has been playing with the Quik Pod recently, and found that he was able to easily use the top clamp on the Nokia DT-22 with the Quik Pod to hold the 6220 Classic, for various video blogging. Even better, the Quik Pod features a tripod at the bottom, with extendable legs, for even more functionality.
According to Quik Pod, the plastic on this extender is polycarbonite, which is the same material used for airplane windows. Sounds pretty industructable to me. You can pick up the Quik Pod for $20 on Amazon.com, and the Nokia DT-22 normally goes for $40. Mine is already on the way, I’m anxious to find different uses for it!

Great idea, however, seen a similar DIY device just over a year ago now on Youtube, which seeing the down side of this, you still only have one hand free, to which led me to develop, an N95 bodycam, which is still in its development, and trial stages at the moment.
Its similar to the Bodycams that are used in the big screen movies, where the actor, or actress has to wear this bodycam, which comprises of an harness, and several poles, and weights etc, however, my version is much simpler, and lightweight, and once set up, you can video yourself, and you not only have both hands free, you can freely move about, and the camera stays focused on its target, ie, your head, and shoulders.
micky.
Will wait for that. If it actually works the way you are describing, its much better than quick pod.
I have added a simple video demo on my blog, take as look. Its a work in progress, as its not finished yet.
