Reset Generation Now On N-Gage, PC Too

Reset Generation Now On N-Gage, PC Too

**Update** Thanks to Krisse from AllAboutNgage.com for the heads up, the PC version is now available. You can go to http://www.resetgeneration.com to play for yourself, or just head over to http://www.symbian-guru.com/resetgeneration to play here at Symbian-Guru!

Well, hot on the heels of the belated Driving with the Guru episode is the announcement that Nokia N-Gage’s much-anticipated Reset Generation game is live on the N-Gage showroom. If you already have N-Gage installed on your phone, simply head over to the showroom (you may need to manually update the showroom by choosing options - update) to get the *massive* 27MB download. Unless you’re on an unlimited plan, you’re going to want to find a WiFi hotspot to download this monster.

Reset Generation, previously codenamed Project White Rock, is the first cross-platform N-Gage game, with a web-based version supposedly going live at http://www.resetgeneration.com later this afternoon (the site is not live at the time of this writing). Based on nearly every other video game in history, Reset Generation is designed to appeal to those of us who grew up blowing into game cartridges and constantly pressing the ‘reset’ button when things froze up.

You can play a limited version of the web portion here, and notice that the controls on the web version are limited to the d-pad and 2 softkeys. Complete brilliance from the N-Gage team. I’ll add some screenshots to this post later this afternoon.

  1. The website has just gone live, so you can play the full game there (it’s compatible with Windows using Firefox or IE).

    Here it is:

And if you click on the “embed me” button below the game you’ll get some HTML code so you can embed it on your own site.

  2. @Krisse - GREAT, thanks so much for the heads-up.

  3. hmmm. Pretty fun game
