Re-Introducing The Symbian-Guru Events Calendar

One thing that I lost when I moved Symbian-Guru from Typepad to Wordpress was the Symbian-Guru Events Calendar. While we will always have an announcement of various events throughout the year, oftentimes it’s helpful for you to have a single place where you can go to see what’s coming up, or what’s just passed. Rather than all of you trying to hassle with keeping your own calendars up to date, we’ve done the heavy lifting for you and introduced the Symbian-Guru Events Calendar, hosted on Google Calendar.

There are several different ways in which you can keep up with this calendar, and since we want to make it easy, I’m going to go over a few of them:

First, as you might have noticed, a list of upcoming events is found on the Symbian-Guru homepage, right in the middle there, below the video box. This is an easy, glanceable way for you to quickly find out what’s happening.

Second, you can subscribe to the RSS feed of the calendar. This will give you a little snippet of information, right there in your RSS reader, about events as we add them. Greatness.

Third, for those of you who sync like madmen, you can use this freeware to pull your shared Google Calendars into MS Outlook. From there you can sync with your phone pretty much however you want.

A fourth option for those using Linux or Mac is to use GooSync. These guys have been around for a while, and recently introduced a premium service with the ability to sync multiple Google Calendars, as well as true 2-way Google Contacts sync, which is brilliant. We’ll have a full review of GooSync Premium here on the site shortly.

Last but not least, you can pull up Google’s mobile kingdom on your S60-powered phone’s browser and view your Google Calendars there, for free. Note that you’ll need to add the Symbian-Guru Event Calendar to your subscribed calendars list first.

In any case, you won’t want to be without the new Symbian-Guru Events Calendar, so however you want to do it, subscribe to it, so you can be in the know about the latest mobile and Symbian-related events and happenings around the world.
