Samir Oueldi Launches AikonLab

In a short news coming to us today courtesy of Gregory Taieb on SymbianFrance, we know that Samir Oueldi, S60’s favorite developer when it comes to accelerometer-based applications, has now put his personal site on hold. His applications will later be available through AikonLab, which will be online on the 5th of September. AikonLab is apparently an association that aims to create a community for software developing and then offering it to download for free, ie the same way Samir has been working for a while now.

We wish Samir all the best with AikonLab, and hope that he keeps on surprising us with applications that revolution the way we deal with out handsets. The next gem coming from him? As Gregory notes, it might be a motion alarm, that plays a sound whenever the phone is moved. Apparently, a lot of users have been asking for something like this, to catch thieves that steal their phones when they’ve put them on charge or somewhere lying around. Others just want it to nag their siblings who try to grab their phones behind their back. All in all, it might be a fun application or a useful one, depends on how you look at it.
