Good review! I have been telling Nokia owner for years now, if you get a card, invest in the fastest you can get. Anyting below class6 slows your phone down to a crawl. The faster the better, but in my opinion do yourself a favor and get a class 6 or faster. People often blame Nokia while they should blame themselves for buying a slow card.

I doubt that the size of the card is what is actually affects the speed. More likely they used slower chips for the 8 than the 6. With these "class x" ratings, they're all some range xMB/s - yMB/s, so if the 6 was at the top of class 4, and the 8 at the bottom, you could see a difference. I also think they're not necessarily exact - since the other thing to consider is the latency. It could transfer at 20MB/s, but if it has 2000ms latency, it's still going to take over 2 seconds to transfer a 512k (or any) block.<br>Windows isn't great for measuring that stuff unless you have some software that can guarantee that it's bypassing the cache - or -maybe- if you rebooted after each individual test or something. High transfer rates are good if you're moving a lot of large files, but I get the impression that there's a lot of high-latency stuff around now, so small, random reads are going to take a big hit.

I'm not going to argue the point anymore. I have the card in my hand, and it's a class 8. If you don't want to believe me, suit yourself.

@The Guru: Could it be possible that "wolf" is rigth? That as he said in his second post, the numer just looks like a 8 but is a 6? I also never heared about Class 8 cards and can't find anything about a launch in the near future ;-)
