After reading through our review on GooSync, my friend Roy, who works at SBSH, linked me to a forum thread about a new feature in SBSH Calendar (formerly known as Papyrus) that allows you to map GooSync’s Google Calendar tags to categories in SBSH Calendar! This is great news if you’re a heavy calendar user, as you can now get the visual pleasure that categories gives you in SBSH corresponding to the tags that GooSync adds.
Basically, there’s a new settings menu called ‘GooSync’ in SBSH Calendar that allows you to determine which GooSync tags correspond to which Calendar categories. The tags are then recognized in Calendar, and the appropriate category is applied to the event. To top it off, the tag is then hidden when you’re using Calendar, so that your calendar views are not cluttered with extra text.
It’s only a matter of time before someone develops a tool that sits on your desktop and either reads the SBSH Calendar categories or the GooSync tags and translates those to Outlook categories, making the synchronization really complete.
You can get a free trial of the latest version of SBSH Calendar from the Symbian-Guru Software Store.
