Well, I hope it has at least the same specs that N82 has. Than they’ll have to throw in a massive screen and that’s it. I don’t feel the need for more than the already 4 buttons (not 3, remember the one with the media bar ;)) as for me if a phone is well thought the physical keys have no need… and apparently 5th editon is good since it allows us to input text in 4 possible ways. Keys will make it bigger and heavier…

8 megapixel camera with Xenon flash is mandatory on any forthcoming Nseries offerings if you ask me.

If they want my money, it’s going to have to equipped with a capacitive touchscreen rather than resistive. The thought of a touchscreen N-series really gets me drooling though.

Id expect 5MP at least and a larger screen.

I should imagine that it will be very similar to the 5800, full screen touch + 4 physical keys.

I think the option for a qwerty keyboard should be on board.
But maybe that is more for the E-series users.

I would in fact not mind if the screen was as big as the N96 if the next upcoming N-series is with touch.
Bigger screens would mean more space to see things, as the “buttons” on the 5800 XpressMusic seems quite large.

Spec-wise they should upgrade the ram of their devices which is a crucial point to me, as well as inbuilt memory.
8 mpx camera would be nice, but the algorithm for rendering the images should be better first.

All in all the other specs could stay as for now.
(That is 5mpx camera, gps, fm-trasmitter, dual-LED, wifi, etc.)

A touch screen N series should have a full face touch screen like the 5800 and a full numerical slideout keypad like my N95. Some features are OK to use on a touch screen, like the music player or web browsing. But, for dialing a call or composing an email, there’s nothing like the tactile feedback of a physical keypad. The 5 Mpx camera is a must, as are WIFi and bt. And five band 3G (EU, ATT and TMobile US).

I’ve been looking at new phones recently, but this news has me coming back to Nokia (thankfully). Can’t wait for a touch Nseries.

My “mandatory” specs would be an 8MP camera, though with all of Nokia’s competitors having at least one 8MP phone alredy, I’d like to see Nokia pull another N95 and introduce their first Nseries Touch as a 10MP camera. Just because.

I’d also like the face/blink/smile detection we’ve been seeing.

I also want at least 720×480 video recording, though higher is nice too.

    Xenon flash, too, please.

I want at least the same screen resolution than the Tube, higher if possible. Eldar M. has said Nokia will bring screens denser than WinMo phones currently have (800×480), so it would be nice to see that here.

Triband HSDPA with a NAM version announced right out of the gate, a la the N85.

I want a monoblock device, but think there should be a navigation cluster so that music can be switched easily.

3.5mm jack, FM radio/transmitter, and all the other jazz, too.

I want Nokia to hit this thing out of the friggin’ park, essentially. I’ve heard very interesting things on M-R about what Nokia’s bringing to the table at the next MWC, and I think my wishlist may not be too far from reality. I hope.

yes it would be useful to combine features of the e71 and the n95 add the key board and be mindful of the larger hands out here.

I have an n82 and like it a lot. One thing I would like in a follow up model is a way to make things like “Flash Off” the default. Very embarrassing when photographing “discretely” to have the flash firing because I haven’t gone back to check the parameters in the rush to get the shot.
