Mobile With The Guru - Ep 5 - From The 5800 Block
This week’s Mobile with the Guru is live from the 5800 Block of Hulen St, in Fort Worth, TX, where we bring you news of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic! This was announced just a few hours ago but I’m SUPER excited about this first attempt at a touchscreen-enabled smartphone from my favorite Finnish company.
We’ve also got some details of the Comes with Music program, and some closing thoughts on the 6220 Classic vs the Nokia N82 that I’d like to share with you, so you don’t want to miss this episode!
Also, some of you expressed concerns over the shakiness of the video since switching to Mobile with the Guru, so I convinced a buddy of mine to play cameraman for me, and hopefully you’ll agree that the quality turned out much better.
Thanks again for watching, and don’t forget, you can subscribe to the show with this link, or you can download the Symbian-Guru OPML file to import a handful of mobile/tech/internet related podcasts into your podcatching app of choice. See you next week from another new location!

Just watched the new episode
Nice place you found for the specian occasion.
You also wore a quite funny t-shirt “Pudgey Penguins” very cool.
(Is it the name of a sports team or something?)
When it comes to the comparison of the 6220 classic and the n82, I really agree on the fact that you overall will get more value and features choosing the latter. Personally I think that the 6220 classic looks quite good too.
As always an informative and nice show
Yet another great video, and an appropriate location! I was tuned in to Nokia’s Virtual Live Event web page last night waiting, and waiting, then got given a link to electricpig.co.uk which was up to date, and had live updates of the 5800 launch, I later found out the Virtual Launch had moved. Also, Tangler crashed too, which was a bum, I really wanted to give some feedback.
Anyway, great vid Ricky, I will send you details of my N95 bodycam as soon as its finished, as you could do with one, saves having to pay a camera man ay
I was at the AT&T corporate store on Tue. located off Brynt Irvin and showed off my N82. The salesmen just wished they sold an Nseries device because it would sell. It’s not his fault though, it’s the corp. If they cant bloat it, they cant float it!
Next time your in the area, try Baker St. Pub on Camp Bowie. If you miss Bennigan’s, this is like it but 10 times better!
It STILL isn’t the first touchscreen Nokia smart phone. Nokia merely returns to touchscreen tech.
Another great show, Ricky!
I’m glad you point ed out how Comes with Music is going to work. Any idea when it’s coming to the US? Seems like I’ve read that you can transfer the songs to a different Nokia device once every three months. If that’s true, it might be quite good!
