Nokia N85 Reviewed, Germans Get It With Zeemote

Our good buddy P@sco over at Jaspp.net has gotten his hands all over my future phone, the Nokia N85. Packing an OLED display, 1200mAh battery, 5 megapixel camera, and microUSB charging. As to be expected, P@sco believes that the N85 is the best Symbian phone on the market today, thanks to its speed, stability, and the included softwares. The OLED screen is impressive, and he’s rather impressed with the build quality, too, which is good to hear.

Despite the N96 in my hand, I’m 100% sold that the N85 will be replacing my N95-3 as soon as the NAM model comes available. As if P@sco’s review isn’t enough, there’s also the news that the N85 will be bundled with Zeemote in Germany.

We’ve covered the Zeemote here before, and after playing with one at the Evening with S60 in Boston, I’m sold on that, too. Simply a ‘duh’ accessory, specifically if you play alot of games on your phone. If you can, I’d recommend shopping around for the German packaging, for sure. Meanwhile, I’ll be crossing my fingers that Nokia USA is able to score the same deal.

P@sco’s review is available in English here.

and you know they have the 30% cashback deal goin with live.com, right?

I really like it however I'm not sure if I like it more than my N95. Of course I love the pretty screen and camera cover. The external speakers are not as good as those on the N95. The slider is pretty loose and when pressing the keys it has quite a bit of play to it. The keys are stiff and hard to press. The keyboard is cramped and cheap feeling.

Most programs that I know and love aren't compatible with FP2. I'm really missing conversations. Is there another alternative for conversations? Nokia Email is working great though. i'm thankful for that.

It's cool sittin here seeing 3.5g on my APAC version though. After the live.com cash back i'm only out 450. not too bad, I think i'll keep it and my N95
  6. Tempting me again with a post about the N85 do you?

Those few days to arrival in my country seems like an eternity.
Definitely going to try this device at the store, and mostly buy it after.

Anyone know if the N85 is hackable?
  7. To my knowledge, no. I've been poking around for my N96, no luck yet. I imagine it would be the same story with the N85.
