In a very interesting initiative launched by Charlie Schick and the team over at the Nokia Conversations site, an N96 has been packed in a nice black suitcase, with what seems to be a Nokia BH-604 headset and some cables and chargers. The suitcase is meant to travel the world, yes literally. It will switch between several hosts located in different countries who will use it to take pictures, videos and upload them, share journeys, microblog, load their music, their applications… At the end of the day, the N96 will have created memories and experiences “of its own”.
The first 3 hosts are in the UK, Australia and Brasil, but the tour is planned to go through Canada, France, the USA and Charlie says “even Ghana”. Oh how I wish I was back in Lebanon, it would’ve made a great addition to the World Tour, because honestly, you can’t do a “world” tour without going in the Middle East! Edit: I just received the news from Charlie. I am IN the N96 World Tour. I should hopefully get the N96 in time for Christmas and New Year’s eve, when I’m back to Lebanon for the holidays. YAY.
Anyway, the N96 has been packed and ready to post on Twitter, Share on Ovi and Sports Tracker. You can follow its endeavours on the World Tour Center Stage, or individually here:

The initiative is still a one-device world tour, but apparently, there is a chance it might be enlarged to encompass even more devices. Oh how enticing!
