Nokia N96 Bruce Lee Edition – Please Stop

Nokia N96 Bruce Lee Edition - Please Stop

Despite pretty much everyone complaining about the price point and the battery of the Nokia N96, Nokia keeps on pushing, beginning with the first Face the Task editions, which were priced at a premium and included a special box. Next up is the Nokia N96 Bruce Lee Edition. We can’t make this stuff up, people. For roughly US$1280, you get the Nokia N96, a specially designed and autographed back cover (that still doesn’t fit the 1200mAh BL-6F battery), a Bruce Lee action figure dressed up like Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, and a handful of other fun stuff.

It’s only available in China, so you don’t have to worry about your local shop getting a load of these, and not stocking the normal version (unless you’re in China, obviously). So…..my question is, where is the Nokia N85 Black Knight Edition, complete with cool Batman logo on the back, and other Batman-related stuff? Maybe a copy of the movie and a KILLER theme or something? Anyone?

  1. "Uma Thurman's yellow track-suit is a direct homage to the one worn by Bruce Lee in Game of Death (1978)."
  2. Thanks for the correction. As you can tell, I'm not entirely a Bruce Lee fan.
  3. This is the best Nokia marketing since..well forever.

The video that was released as part of the marketing is also brilliant. There's a reason why Nokia rules the chinese market. They know how to market there.
  4. I am a huge fan of bruce lee and I think this is awesome on Nokia's behalf!! If they will have this for the Nokia N85 NAM version i'm totally buying it...
  5. Dark Knight Edition should go on the 5800XM seeing it was featured in the movie itself. Plus the nice theme(s) on that large screen will make it look good.
  6. Now a Jackie Chan special edition and I'm sold. Better yet, a Godfrey Ho ninja phone, hopefully in purple.
  7. Ricky, I thought you yourself had commented somewhere that you were pleasantly surpised by the N96 battery life (after you had actually used it)?

I was surprised, based on EDGE usage. It still didn't hold a candle to either my N95-3 or nearly any other S60 phone I've used in a while.
