Nokia Preparing Major Update for Download! and Ovi Suite
Reader Nemoi has posted a cool discovery on our new forums, letting us know about a new (and unreleased) version of Nokia’s Ovi Suite for PC! The update, labeled v1.1, definitely adds support for certain Eseries devices, such as Nemoi’s E51, which apparently previously did not work. The new Ovi Suite came on the disk that shipped with his new Nokia N85.
The other cool update that Nemoi found was an integrated PC Download! Application, allowing you to browse the Download! app on your computer, to then install apps to your phone. This was integrated into the new Ovi Suite, under the ‘Extras’ area. A new beta version of the Download! app was installed to his E51, and includes new features, including the ability to search for specific apps!
Even more interesting is that when the new PC Download! Application is started up, you’re presented with a warning that the system will be down on November 8th and 9th for a ‘major overhaul.’ That’s this weekend, and I for one am really anxious to see what goodies Nokia is going to show off. Hopefully it’ll be an entirely new Application Store, with the ability for developers to easily add their programs to the Download! app found on our S60-powered phones!

I just ran the nokia update inside OVI suite and almost every app (music, photos etc.) got an update.
Anyway, replicating an App Store is really not innovative anymore, so I'm really hoping a lot more integration or innovation regarding Download!
I've posted my ideas before and they are related to this post - so I hope you don't mind the link: http://www.renegadefanboy.com/2008/1...or-your-phone/
